Days to remember: The Kennedy visit in Frankfurt and his speech at the Paulskirche 1963
50 years ago President John F. Kennedy arrived at Hanau AAF by helicopter.
After a ceremony with troops of the V Corps his convoy proceeded 20 km to Frankfurt with tenthousands of spectators on the roadside.
At the home of the first democracy in Germany, the Paulskirche Assembly Hall, he held a impressive speech on the strong ties between the U.S.A. and Germany and the joint will to defend democracy that can be found here:

Reading it I was astonished to see how many aspects of this speech still fit today.
