My frame is 98" wheelbase, and with a winch (and no welding marks), so it is for sure not a WC54 frame.

Here is the Dodge (in the front...)

I will scrape some paint and see if I can find a second number.

Hi svaasand,

Any progress on finding the original frame number on your WC-57 ?

I sanded down the area, and there are some tool marks above the number.

I guess this probably indicated that there has been a different number here at some point of time. However, the metal is not ground down (no missing metal), and there is no trace of a number

Hi svaasand,

Where on the frame are you sanding ? Is this just below the left ground strap from frame to inner fender as seen in Juan's photo ?

I sanded down the frame from bumper to the shock absorber. Nothing else found. The numbers were found here:

Hola,

With all due respect, I think that is not the original recording.
I think the original recording is a little higher.

Please, can you check.

Juan

I am happy that you are helping to solve this "mystery".

If you look at my picture on post of 23.06, I have sanded this area. Above the number are the tool marks, looks like chisel punch marks. This is in the area you have indicated.

It is impossible to see any trace of a previous number in this area. If these chisel marks are indicating that the a number has been removed, it has been done well. There are no grinding marks.

I'm sorry, I'm really sorry,

But it is very clear that this BC not for your car, so the chassis number is not the original.

I think I see a seven, maybe it is 817……But do not think so because the model 57 was manufactured only in 1942

8163 7 Is it possible? ... I do not know

It is also possible that there is an error in the BC, but I do not think so.

Good luck to you,

Juan.

Hola,

For those who love this list, I put pictures of the list of BC we have.

Series WC-51 to WC-64 KD, years 1942-1945. 127 Total.

I corrected the mistakes of the past, like putting 815 separately from other numbers.

It is in fact 81 million, 529 001, for example.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your efforts in tracking these numbers.

Could you recheck the schedule number of 81777845 ? You have listed 77388 and I believe the number should be perhaps 72388.

Hola Tom,

To leave doubts, study carefully the following table:

Image

The black circles are perforations on paper.

Detail Record your Dodge: Sched. Nº : 77388

Is it right?

Thanks Juan,

Yes, I know how to read the Build Cards it was just that the schedule number looked out of place as in a typo.

Schedule No etc.

Post by BrianT »

Hi gents, could someone enlighten me as to what the Schedule No and the Spec O No represent on the Build Card?
My card is in the database :

81751872 12th Jan 1945 WC51- Schedule No. 2295 Spec O. No. 42775

It was interesting to see the punch code for each of the numbers.

Cheers
Brian
