Some new ones - trucks look a bit tired by 1945:

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
It is possible that the Tail Lights may not be Guide also. First photo has beautiful details of 1st Series CCKWs, my favorite time period as I am a MV historian interested in that period.

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
The first pic looked pre war or stateside.
CCKW-352 with unit markings on door, not the national emblem.
Also the fuel tanks did not have passenger side 3 inch fillers.
The web gear also looks OD 3 (I HATE to say it, but khaki-ish) not OD 7. The leggings and cartridge belt specifically.

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
Historical photos are great, the early trucks are shown "Plain Jane" without all the mods and garbage hung everywhere.

Most likely installed by the contractor for the body as they are included in the packing list for a completed Wood Cargo Body.Robbo wrote:Just noticed the wooden body also has King Bee reflectors.

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
Here's some more photo-pages with trucks - sad that most of the men pictured died at the hands of the Japanese:

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
My pick of them is this one:
http://www.proviso.k12.il.us/Bataan%20W ... ueling.jpg
Lots of good early stuff in these photographs including M2 tanks and early "peeps":
http://www.proviso.k12.il.us/Bataan%20W ... oberle.jpg
The early vehicles are much more interesting (to me at least) than the later generic stuff.

Re: GMC WW2 Photographs
I enjoy photos of early WWII vehicles and equipment, the barracks bring back memories of my tour in the military.
The history of this unit and the destiny of the men is a sobering tribute. War is Hell.
