RANGER What is this plate?

Post by Ken J »

Hi RANGER:

Can you tell me what this plate would be? It is located on the driver's side of the outside of an open cab CCKW delivered in 3/45. Do you have a picture of a legible example which you could post or email to me, please?

Thanks very much!

Looks like someone made a patch out of an M-Series Data Plate, most likely from the truck the cargo body came off.
Did you take time to look at the other side of the patch?
I hope you are not interested in an M-211.

So it looks like this might have been at least partly an M-211? This truck has a builder's plate under the dash in the middle of the firewall which shows it to be GMC with a stamped delivery date of "3-45".

The Cargo Body is M-Series, Reo or GMC(same)
Patch appears to be M-211 Instruction plate of sorts. The truck probably has something of value to salvage.
