BEEN SITTING IN A CCKW THE LONGEST

Post by RANGER »

Been sitting in a CCKW for so long I is one.
RANGER, the CCKW collector with the most time in the hobby.
My first CCKW was USA 4819485 S. It was sold as unused surplus at Boston Army Base at the end of the war, we sold it in 1957 to a contractor who mounted a backhoe on it.
I still have the NOS Snatch block from it in back of my SWB.
The mate to it existed up till 20 years ago in Stetson, Maine, it was also sold new with LWB Wood Cargo Body and 11.00X18 Single Tires. It belonged to Henry Hartwell and was used to plow town roads and on his farm. It burned in a barn fire. Two of the mud flaps from it are now on my CCKW.
