Re: WHY WE SUBSTITUTE CCKW RESTORATION FEATURES

Post by pfarber »

The rear view mirrors are all but useless no matter what side they are on.

The Army KNEW this and instructed drivers have spotters or get out and look when backing.

There is noting on the right side of a CCKW to see anyways.

Its more important to KNOW where the blind spots are and drive defensively.

Modern tractor tailers have blind spots... professional drivers know where they are and take measures to drive safely. Even with a rats nest of mirrors hanging off the sides of big rigs.. what do you think that puny 5in mirror is gonna show you?

Know the truck limits, don't fool yourself by putting a mirror on the door and think you are safe. Safety is more than a mirror.
