What are the women standing round.

I don't recognise the vehicle in that image near the bottom where the women are clustered round it.

Normal commercial car with stars on? It looks small enough to be a Crosley?

I can't pin down the type, but it is a Crosley. Crismon has some images on page 40. The only person I know with a Crosley is Jaap Rietveld.

(note the one S in Crosley, as opposed to the two SS's in the British name)

Rebuilding a Jeep Motor, not quite, but the soldier is using a wrench and a pair of pliers to work on a battery cable clamp.

Note the TIMKEN differential from a Studebaker or Split Axle CCKW in the vice.

That's a WWII machine, I remember them being surplused. The Star on the C-46 dates it prior to July 1943 when the red surround and bar was added.
