The photo is an illustration taken from a TM10 CCKW maintenance manual, these are usually enhanced by airbrush to stress the topic . There were post war "tenite" plastic CCKW replacement Steering wheels manufactured using early 3 spoke GM Part No 2105524 which were originally hard rubber.

The NOS OD 3 Spoke GM 2105524 illustrated is one of many that I had in stock, it is the last one I had and is now on Mark Norman's award winning SWB CCKWX 353 featured in a magazine article about the restoration being done at Mil Spec, a leading restoration facility of WWII wheeled and tracked vehicles. John Gott has a gloss black post war GM 2105525 3-Spoke Steering Wheel made from "tenite" on his award winning Chevrolet 4X4.
Those who are experienced WWII GM collectors are familiar with the variations of G-506/G-508 trucks.
