My other interests are military aircraft, and I was well on my way to owning and restoring an O-1 (L-19) Cessna BIRD DOG a number of years ago.

Well Ranger, after my trip to AMARG, I know some more O-2 will be auctioned off. Depends on how long the gov't decides to get rid of them

Nice.
The O-2 is now a popular Warbird. The Bird Dog is my kind of plane. I saw my first Bird Dog in 1951, it was taking off and just popped into the air, and I have been sold on them ever since. It was issued to the Maine Army National Guard who was issued one of the first L-19s in the First Army area.

Used to see the O-1, O-2 and OV-10 on my base, Ubon RTAFB, Thailand. Really like them warbirds and would love to have an O-2.

While those planes are nice, I'd take a P-51D over just about any Warbird out there. I'd just have to sell my Calif. home and Divorce the wife. LOL. Seriously, the sound of a Rolls-Royce Merlin is like music to my ears.
