Hi Guys,

I am a "newbie" here so please bear with me. I am looking to find out the service life of the M-34 Truck. Also any model variations, like dump bodies, Van bodies and canvas or metal cab roof. They seem similar to the M-35 Multi-Fuel Trucks. I do know that most if not all M-34s were gasoline engines and manual transmissions while the M-35s had some with automatics and others with manual trasmission?

Thanks!

M-34 was the six wheel cargo version of the REO family of 2 1/2 ton 6X6 trucks, 10 wheels were M-35.
GMC built the Single wheeled M-135 2 1/2 ton Hydramatic, Cargo Truck the 10 wheeler Hydramatic GMC Cargo was the M-211.
Some of us still speak 6X6 with the best of them.

The Steel Soldiers forum seems to have a lot of M-series owners:

Frankly, all that new-fangled M series truck technology makes my head spin. :)

Lots of newcomers on there discovering 6 wheel drive, and talking the whistler thing. Nice truck, but a lot of young owners will discover 30 years from now that it was very bad for their ears.

Thanks to all for the info and the reference to other sites. If you have not guessed I am a modeler trying to detail one. Thanks again!
