G numbers
Generally G-numbers group together vehicles with external differences that are similar in terms of their engine, transmission, drive train and chassis. A G-number grouping may be considered as a "family" of vehicles. The body style and function of the vehicles within the same G-number may vary greatly.

G-numbers are part of the Army Supply Catalog's Ordnance section. They represent various Army vehicles that were the responsibility of the Ordnance Corps (exact name varies).
