Hello all,

What data tag did Dodge use for there military vehicles before WWII on the starters, generators, distributors & regulators. Was it labeled just Auto-Lite or was the words "Chrysler Corporation" printed across the top of the tag.

Thank you,

Kurt

Did any of the WC used before or during WWII have data tags like these for there starters and generators?

I've never taken much notice of the wording

All the tags I've seen have been red for 6 volt and green for 12 volt.
All the tagged stuff I've got 1939-up is all tagged like the tags you show.

I don't think it's going to vary at all, I've no idea when AUTOLITE became the AUTOLITE Division of CHRYSLER CORPORATION, but I don't see any reason the tags colouring / wording would have changed

Hello Gordon,

I appreciate the information. My interest is in finding someone that is reproducing these tags or having them reproduced myself. I needed to know if the US military used these tags for any of there Dodge trucks prior or during WWII.

Thanks you,

Kurt

Hello Kurt,

those tags were definitely on WW2 Dodge trucks, right back to 1939 at least.

I suspect Vintage Power Wagons in Iowa would have them, or know who was reproducing them.

VPW does have them; Midwest might, as well. VPW provided me with a pair of the drive rivets to mount it to the regulator housing, so I didn't have to go find those, either.
