F.A.O. Ranger - Message from Gary

Post by Gordon_M »

I still can’t log into the forum, but I believe Ranger was looking for a CCKW Heater.  I located one on this forum:

If you would be so kind as to inform or post on the market forum

Gary Fischer,
Gordon, in Scotland

Thank you for helping, I have been watching that unit, it is getting a lot of response. It is a Post war Artic Engine heater. It involves insulating and relocating the battery, plumbing into the cooling system and running heater hoses to plated indre the battery, and to the Engine. There is also flex pipe and ducting for it to heat the Oil pan. It is a dangerous unit to install as age affects safety features , valves and other parts. They can explode. They were for extreme sustained subfreezing operation and diod the job but made a mess of the engine compartment with Fuel lines, ,electrical wires, coolant hose and hot air ducting. There is no technical or parts support for this item and should be bought as a curio.

What I am looking for is a Personnel Heater as depicted in the photos of my truck.
Thanks for being on the look out.

Seymore was good to me, he found it in Denmark, and his spirit is always sitting beside me in the passenger seat.

Would that be Seymore, the guy who owned Route 1 Surplus in NJ? While I was stationed there I would stop in and see him, great guy. He passed away just before I transfered. I had one of his WC54s for about 15 years.
