Arrived This afternoon, sealed in original box, it looks super, just as one would expect a NOS CCKW Cab Cover to look . It is complete with rope leather front corner reinforcements, roll up straps on front edge, and atached metal side rails. There is no corrosion nor apparant damage. Will try this on my cab later this week. There are a few more at the warehouse where this came from.

NOTE:
When installing any new canvas, be very careful, do not tug or manhandle, the freshest of canvas tops will tear if one is not careful.

Uncle Sam had the resources to replace them, the average collector does not. Many collectors opt to install and remove according to the use of the day, there really is no MV canvas top that will survive frequent installation and removal without showing signs of wear.
I have sold lots of canvas as anyone, and have heard just about every excuse why new canvas was torn long before installation. No matter where your Canvas Top is ordered from, please handle it very carefully, be careful when opening the box with your knife , remember that MVs have many sharp edges that will tear even the freshest canvas instantly.

Be very careful to clean up that rusty groove alon the top of the windshield frame, no canvas will install without damage in 65 year old scaly grooves. Be careful that the wiper shafts do not catch the canvas as it slides by.
I have installed GI canvas on MVs from Jeeps thru 10 Ton 6X6, and each vehicle has its differences in installation technique.

The Cab Covers are NOS but have shrunk beyond any expectation of successful installation, they are beautiful right out of the box. Only hope for them is to recover the NOS side rails with flap, the russet reinforcement at the front corners , roll up straps, and the pins that lock the corners, and the rope. The Dealers do not have any of the side rails and are short on hardware.

Sorry. It will stay on my cab for the next two weeks, when the nice open cab is removed and the restored Closed Cab finally is installed. The Open Cab complete except for instruments and controls will be available later on this year, it is nice and will just need a new CCKW to install it on.
