LITTLE KNOWN WWII DODGE WC DETAIL

Post by RANGER »

The Buckle used on the WWII WC Gas Can Strap is unique to that era, they are not the same as used by the Army today, and not usually available at the Repro canvas suppliers. The same buckle was also installed on the CCKW open Cab at the factory.

Hi Ranger,

Are the buckles you mention the ones in the following two pictures or something else:

They match the pics, thanks for posting. I have many rare and unique parts for the discriminating collectors that frequent this site. The 15' test is not mentioned in my Parts Bible. I could shake up a lot of the judges and a few vendors.

Guess I was lucky, the straps were worn out on my gas can , but the buckles were there(like the ones Robbo pictures) so I changed them to new straps. Bob

Hi Ranger,

I'd need two for my gas can holders on my 1944 WC51 (ex Norway).

Kind regards,

As always
