Clutch Pedal Adjustment

Okay the truck is home! And yes I haven’t double clutch since my mg midget-1967. But I’m not sure about the pedal adjustment. The gearbox grinds just putting it into gear, not moving. I know the pedal adjust is somewhat critical and I’m going to dive in tomorrow. Is there a way to test that the clutch is fully disengaging when pushed in? Or clues that something else is wrong?
I need to get the wife back on my side with the truck as she calls it “your mistress”
PS she’s kinda right😂

You can drive the military four speed without the clutch at all, once it is rolling, it slides wonderfully from gear to gear if you don't rush it.

Two things to look for, you absolutely must have a little free pedal travel, I think it is about 1" at the pedal, otherwise the clutch will not full disengage and will grind itself down. Second thing is it needs to disengage fully when the pedal is right down, but if the truck has been stood clutch plate may be sticking to flywheel. If in doubt just drive it for a bit.

How do I confirm the clutch is fully disengaged when the pedal is down?
Lastly my vote is for you to be a 4 star!
Thank you for your always help

Tricky. You should be able to run the engine with the pedal fully down and have no forward drag on flat ground. If it hasn't run for a while drive it to clean up the flywheel / clutch plate / pressure plate interfaces. :D

Okay, a little further along. The clutch pedal is adjusted and the clutch itself moves away from the flywheel. My question is how far away should the clutch move away?
It moves a little more than a 16th of an inch away. Is this proper?

If it is completely clear of the flywheel with no drag at all that should do. I would have expected a little more, but if the adjustment is right live with it.
