My 1941 Dodge military half ton pickup (WC40) is nearing road worthiness. Where's a good place to mount license plates on these trucks? Oregon requires them on both the front and rear.
-Thanks

Re: License Plate Location
There is a Dodge civilian rear license plate bracket available as a repro, I'd just cut the license plate holder off one of them.
The earlier VC Command Cars had an angle iron bracket top left of the front bumper. I'd just get an image of that and copy it.

I registered my WC63 in Oregon as a historic veichle. The state, only gave me on plate. I put it on the back. Wired to a bumperette.

Re: License Plate Location
I made a couple of frames out of angle iron. I added a couple tabs on the front plate frame to allow it to just bolt on using the existing fender bolts. Can be removed in a couple of minutes. The rear is a little different depending on series of half-ton. I haven't restored a half-ton pickup, so not sure of suitable location:

Zeph, I really like that front plate holder, I think I will copy it for my Carryall. Thank you for posting.

No Problem Adam. I also installed some sheet metal behind the plates just to add a little protection.Adam in Wa wrote: ↑Mon Sep 28, 2020 5:45 pm Zeph, I really like that front plate holder, I think I will copy it for my Carryall. Thank you for posting.
Here's a better photo of the bracket. I made one for my WC16 and this one is exactly the same for the WC26. That front fender location is a great spot. Still trying to figure out where to mount the rear plate on the Carryall:
