More rust bites the dust...

I had to remove my left front window box to gain access to the area under the window and assess the big freaking hole. Looks like someone used a P-38 can opener on the body panel. I also found the metal was very thin with several pin holes. I thought about dealing with the holes individually, but decided the most efficient way was with one large patch. I could not find a shop near me to make a patch, so I made one myself out of 18 gauge with some hammer and dolly work. The black line under the patch is body panel adhesive.

When I see what some folks have had to do to restore their Carry-Alls I res=alise how fortunate I have been with my one. Awesome job Adam!!

G,Day When i first sighted your wc53 i said then that you were a very iucky kiwi .Yours was all there and very little rust .Me and Ian J had to scour the earth trying to find pieces for our Carryall,s ..Our,s were like a big jig saw puzzle . Having not pulled them apart ourselfs ,we had trouble putting them back together . Ian J,s is still in the resto process . Probably be in this state for the next couple of years . Very lucky Kiwi . Ray, you should have seen the yard of the guy I bought it from. He had two complete Carryalls, a nearly done Command car, an M38 Jeep, a 5-ton truck, and two shipping containers full of parts.. including an NOS windshield assembly!
