Inter-Vehicle Cable-WC7 to Bantam T3 Trailer

Post by Jack Perry »

I hope I am OK posting this question here. It seems OK to me because my main vehicle is a WC-7:

I am getting ready to wire my intervehicular cable to the blackout-switch on my Bantam T3 trailer.
The TM shows three wires coming from this cable (TM 10-1281 calls it the "Coupling Socket Cable Assembly"):
- A-1 Brown From terminal "TL" on the cable to terminal "T" on the switch
- A-2 White From terminal "SL" on the cable to terminal "S" on the switch
- A-3 Red From terminal "GR" on the cable to Trailer Ground on the Right Front Gusset plate.

My problem is that the Inter vehiclular cable I have has 4 wires.
Two of them (Black and Red) are longer and have connectors on the ends.
The other two (one is White or Grey and the other Brown) are shorter and have no connectors on the ends.

Hopefully I can get a picture of the cable here.

not sure about the trailer harness,
but I had to get a wiring diagram from vintage wiring of main,
for the early series. wc1-12 becouse its not in the regular manual
try this
wire 21=black with a green stripe, goes to SS on the light switch.
wire 24=blue goes to TT on the light switch
wire 43=green goes to frame

for some reason I have written, that the trailer does not have a marker light.

I also have written that
TT=trailer tail
SS=stop light

a fourth wire would seem to indicate a marker light, on maybe a later vehicle?
unfortunatley I dont have any trailer manuals,
but you could give vintage wiring of main a call and ask them for sure.

if you cant afford the manual, you cant afford the truck!
