From the pics alone, what are you guy's estimate on getting this 52 to a safe, reliable, motorpool Dodge? I had a friend that said to always add $5K to any MV purchase to get a rough idea. I'm interested to see what your experience tells you on this one?

I've talked with the seller, and he's getting compression check numbers for me soon...

The cost in the end can vary greatly. How much will you do yourself? And how safe and dependable do you want it to be. Here are some rough costs. I have been working on a WC51.

Wiring harness-$700-$1000
Brakes and cylinders-$300-$500 depending on condition
Canvas-$1000-$1800
5 Tires, tubes, flaps-$1300
Top bows-wood and corners
If the oak cargo box bed, fenders or lazybacks need to be redone another $500 for the rough oak. Then you still have to do the rest. Precut will cost you more.
You will probably have to sandblast many things to prep them for repainting.
Many little miscellaneous things.
You will easily hit the $5000 mark.

Yep. And we haven't even started on the mechanical parts. It looks like a solid candidate to start with, so we'll see. And I believe it's a 43/44 52...

I agree with Fred's assessment, I have just spent the last 2 years collecting what I need to put a similar condition truck back on the road and the prices he has identified are correct.

If tires are holding air, new tires can wait. No need for canvas right now. Bows can wait as well. However, complete brake inspection and line replacement, fuel system rebuild, tranny inspection, motor compression, and one of the most important aspects- electrical will be the focus. Even those items, I know, will get on up there if done right.

My thoughts are more with the bed and bodywork. For a typical project, does the sheet metal look on this one seem to be in pretty good condition?
