DUKW close to swimming

Post by Hugh Kennedy »

I have two DUKWs. One is disassembled so that it could be sandblasted, etc. and the other is almost seaworthy. I'm getting ready to install driveshaft housings. Any suggestions or hints would be appreciated.

driveshafts

Hugh,

remember that the arrow that is welded to the transfer case is supossed to line up with a mark on the parking brake drum so that the driver can tell when all of the driveshafts are lined up so that they can be greased thru the plugs in the tubes. also the rear should be allogned so that the fron is aligned with the arrow that is bolted to the hull at the boot for the front tube. in theory they should all be aligned at one time for ease in greasing... I have not gotten this far yet, not sure how hard it will be.
