Still a lot to do, but wanted to get the carryall out of the shop where I'm welding and grinding right now.

Well it took two years and one month but the carryall is done! I do have to put the rear seats in and touch up a few bolts heads. I do want to thank John and the guys at Midwest Military for all their help. It has been a fun project.

Are the markings going to be of a unit or just factory?

Steve, I did not recover any unit marking during restoration so I will not put any on. I want to put a hood number on but the number I recovered does not fit into known ranges for the WC-26 carryall. Listed in the front of TM10-1189 are three contracts for the WC26. My serial number falls into the first two, one of these is listed as having no U.S. registration number and it does not have a serial number range listed at all. Only a starting serial number. One thing I was disapointed in the new Dodge books there is no production data any halftons above WC-16. I'm still working on coming up with the correct number. Anyone got an idea??

Your carryall restoration looks great Phil! I was just watching Manhattan this evening, and they had a nice half ton carryall in a few of the scenes. They actually have a number of WWII US military vehicles in each episode. Not sure where the series is filmed. I'll have to go back and see if there is a registration number on the one in tonight's episode.

Phil , I looked up your thread " Time Capsule " and saw were you mentioned
the guy you purchased your 26 from told you he " got it out out of Washington
many years ago "

My thought is your WC26 may possibly have first been used during the construction of the Hanford site near Richland Washington , so maybe
that's why the hood number is not showing up in any available records ??
