Looks fantastic Phill. Many hours of hard graft there. All the best with the panel work.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Thank you, was able to prime and cut in the body today. Still have some rotten metal to cut out and replace and a lot of work to do on the rear of the body.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
One thing for you to do at this stage Phil, if you haven't already. Check the squareness of the rear body aperture and tweak it if you have to now before you do any more finishing.

Yes, that is a good idea. I need to install all four doors and test fit them. Thanks Phil H

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Having been in this position a couple of times, you need the diagonal measurements across the lift gate / tailgate aperture to be equal within about 3/16"
If it isn't, you just jack it in the opposite direction twice the difference. My WC36 was 2" out of square, so I had to jack it 4" so that when it sprang back it was pretty much square. Looked quite dramatic but worked really well.

Gordon, everything fits well. All rust has been cut out and replaced with new metal.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
That looks nice and even for the sides and squareness. The tailgate / lift gate joint is square, but maybe you could adjust the lift gate down 1/8" or so to minimise that gap? Someone did a good job of the re-skin but getting the joint right is not easy.
I wish I could get mine as good as that. Got my one ton panel still to do, but that whole section was cut out below and binned, plus a load of damage.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Yes, I'm not happy with the gap at the bottom of the lower tail gate. I have some work to do, but I will get it.

Great job on Carryall. I saved the pics for use when I get the scape body you have for me. Will try to come up Late April early May.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
your Carryall is looking amazing and is so clean and straight. My one is progressing but much more slowly. Have paint stripped the old paint as the advise I was given is that sandblasting can distort the body. It has taken me longer but the results have been good

robs
Yes, the wrong guy doing the blasting can warp the metal. You should post some pics of your truck.
