Progress report:
63 of 90 castings complete. Last 27 due in 4 weeks. All lower curved metal received today. All 32 frames plus 4 pattern frames being assembled and spot welded this week. Waiting on canvas guy, wanted to be sewing by now. Stampings, waiting on Peter. Will call tomorrow.
I think I will able to show you examples by the spring meet, maybe just not all sets complete. Will post some photos of frames and hinges this weekend.

Update on the doors…
As of April I had all the metal work done. (hinges and frames). The prototype test door with canvas sewn on was delivered to me at the spring meet and did not meet our expectations. So I moved to plan B with a new upholsterer, American-made canvas from a very well-known supplier, and double-polished 30 mil clear vinyl windows. The test door was delivered about 3 weeks ago, and I was pleased. So we are in production, and I am planning on taking delivery before the fall meet. There are still a few details to work on: the strike plates and rivets, and it looks like most of the lift the dot snaps will have to be installed vehicle-specific.
I can't wait to get through this, and get these out to very patient Dodge owners. It has been a tedious process, but they look great, and they will come in on-budget.

John,
thanks for the update. Sounds like this may be a banner accomplishment for the 1/2t CC crowd in 2014! When are you going to begin to collect from those of us who are eager to recieve? Any idea what the final cost will be per set?
Thanks for all your hard work to get these made right!

Cappy, it's actually me doing the doors, and I've sent you a pm. But John has been a tremendous help and I couldn't have done it without him. Hell, it was this thread, started by him, that got me going. Superdave, I have also sent you a pm. To answer your questions: The list for 7 sets is at nine. But things change, so send me your info if you want on the list. 3 original guys on the list have dropped off. I am planning on having some sets ready by the fall meet. The rest will follow shortly. I would like this to be an in-person transaction, because shipping is going to be difficult and I would like everyone to have a chance to see the product in person, so that I can answer any questions and show you how to install the snaps for your truck. The final cost is still TBD.

Update:
Peter Fraser sent photo of the completed strike plates, and they are on the way to me, then drill, paint, rivet.
Had to reject the 30 mil clear plastic, too flimsy. Went to 40 mil 20/20 crystal clear from Trivantage. 12 yards, that's a lot of those tiny windows. Nice stuff, arrived Sat.

Outstanding Tim! I've seen the doors and I am impressed! Looking good! We took a trip to Los Banos in our military vehicles Saturday for a Veterans Parade and realized its getting COLD without doors!

We are very fortunate that you have taken this on Tim! You Da Man!

The doors are done. (cue the trumpets). After: 4 original doors borrowed (thanks Russ), developing a CAD cut design (thanks Warren and Charlie), 350' of 16 ga. steel, 32 sf of cnc cut curves,12 pounds of brass cast into 90 hinges (thanks Tommy the foundry man), 13 yards of 40 mil clear, 40 sweet striker stampings (thanks, Peter), 12 hours of spot welding, a ton of Los Banos leg work (thanks John), 50 yards of Beachwood, 4 very long highway trips, 250 black snaps and lift the dots, 80 black mil-spec rivets, hundreds of black 8/32 screws, nuts, washers, a few missteps by me, and a year later, we have 32 doors to show for it.
Thanks for everyone's patience, and I am in the process of contacting all that showed interest.
Happy Thanksgiving, Tim

I received my command car doors and I want to extend a big thank you to all that worked on the project to provide a quality product at a very reasonable price. The doors are awesome and will make my WC24 look more primal and a real head turner.
