It was a bargain (10 boxes beer in Euros) and was originally sold by the U.S. Army at Mainz Finthen Airfield in June 1945 to a farmer, when the Airfield was handed over to the French Army as the new operators. Since then it was only on the farm used, together with a second similar trailer.
Both have identical tailgate conversions and combat rims. No idea, if the Army converted the trailers or the farmer.
The conversion is simple, but professional. Hard to say...

This is the second trailer, that is identical to my one. But I did not like the grey and preferred the original condition one...

Hello Folk's

just to inform you on this: I have switched my old www.steel-toys.com Dodge site from "old school HTML" to Wordpress.
So, there is a new "look & feel", but actually some technical problems, as with the old links and acces to my images, that actually don't work...

So - hopefully - I can find a solution to get them online again asap...

Keep 'em Rolling,

Joakim

where's the autolite? they are better than all of those on the list. champions melt, ngk, denso and bosch foul too easy and don't recover. I have never run the pulstar. wouldn't probably try either. looks like a Taiwan name??

You are right.
But please note that this list is based on eBay Europe, so that might be the reason, that Autolite is not listed (might not be available on all European markets?).

I agree to the quality of Bosch sparkplugs, putting it that way: during 25+ years with dozens of Mini Coopers and Land Rovers, I had about 3-4 Bosch that had malfunctions (as part of estimated 3,000 sparkplugs during this time, that I have exchanged/used).
And - more important - Bosch was only about 10% of that total amount of replaced sparkplugs.

The amount of "bad" Champion sparkplugs was - compared to Bosch: ZERO!
They are lasting longer than most competitors and are reliable. That's why they are my first choice, after all those years.
And no: I don't have Champion shares.

By the way - about Autolite: My latest set of Autolite sparkplugs had the caps fixed on top!?
Impossible to remove them.
No idea why, but normally the caps are screwed on top to make the spark plugs fit both types of cables/sockets, right?

Hello Folk's,

I finally found the mistake in the new wordpress based coding of my homepage, that caused the broken links during the last two weeks...

So the links to all my photos are working again and I can focus on finishing the last 20% missing content of my new homepage.

If you want to see the actual results, please feel free to visit my WW2 Dodge site steel-toys.com in it's new "re-loaded" design here:

Hi Ian,

I tried to collect all basic informations that are helpfull for folk's that are "new in the business". :-)

I updated this week the 2018 MV Events list as well, but - sorry to say so - I have no NZ Events in it up to now.

So if you have any informations that should be added, keep me updated. :-)

Well, it's a while that I posted something here, but some Events kept me busy - as the 70. anniversary of the beginning of the Berlin Airlift Operation on June 26 2018 at the Airlift memorial Frankfurt.

Our US Military Vehicle Club had the pleasure to support this Event with our WW2 MV and in the end 15 MV incl. an DUKW and Fritz it's freshly refurbished WC63 showed up. In addition we had the CC from Uli and the WC54 Ambo from our second Uli in place + my WC51. A pretty nice line up for an Event on a workday (Tuesday). = All had to ask for a day off from work to support the commemoration.
A great Event with many old Berliner's and Veterans in place.

Here is the link to the article about it in the Stars and Stripes: https://www.stripes.com/news/berlin-air ... n-1.534816

And here to some photos made by Uli: http://space.buwe.de/luftbruecke70/IMG_9343.html
THX for sharing!
