Pintle Hook installation...help

We are trying to reinstall the pintle hook on our truck put can't figure how to get the brushing off ?? Pressed or are they threaded or just rusted on??
I'm assuming that you have removed the large castleated nut.
One or both of the collars is rusted on Ernie. You could try using a bit of heat (Oxy/Acetylene) on the exposed ends but not near the spring. From memory only the ends of the collars are in contact with the shaft, about the first 1-1/4 inches or so. The rest of the bore is a larger diameter. The collars are supposed to be a sliding fit. With the nut removed the hook should just pull out.
