Tires

Post by KAE »

Hi everyone,
Please, be so kind, and if anyone have any suggestion, which tires should I use for the most comfortable ride.
Thank you in advance,
Best regards,

Are you looking for a specific brand of non-directional or just any type of tire in 9.00 x 16?

I can't speak firsthand as iv always run non-directionalals but I would think the STA Super Lug 8 Ply 900-16 would be a smoother ride than the military tires.

Also this link has some good info where you might be able to track down some good used older model tires https://garbee.net/~cabell/photos5.htm

Hope this helps a little.

Go for Michelin 255/100R16 radials. Expensive but well worth it! These are the NATO type tyre pattern.

HI Goran,
try www.vrakking-tires.com. H. Vrakking B.V in The Netherlands have Michelin 9.00 x 16 radials and 255/100-R16 radials ex stock. I believe they have some Nato surplus also.

Cheers

Hi Goran,
I cannot comment on the CAMAC tires, I have no experience with them.

Cheers

Those CAMAC tires remind me of the european style that you would see on some antique farm tractors over here in the states. Never had any but I believe they were more noticeable when they would sit a long time and get flat spots...but hey who know a tractor never rode that good anyway.

While we are on the tire topic I see goodyear has some all weather R-3 in 9.50 x 16. Would these fit wc-51 wheels for example? Just curious.

And yeah KAE let's see that truck! Maybe a link to a photo album would work?

a camac 6.00 16 is way to small for the Dodge. that is a car tire.

Dear Kaegi,
many many thanks, you saved me a lot of nerves!
As I was in a big hurry (all tires were on a discount) while I was ordering, I pressed a wrong button and ordered wrong tires.
Now, everything is solved with shop and 9.00-16 are ordered!

Thanks once again, you saved me a money for return shipping!
