that is the 9th Service Command.

Very important yet overlooked units from WWII. The Army Service Forces (ASF) were divided into 9 Service Commands which handled all mobilization, training, military posts, transportation, military manufacturing and other personnel matters within their jurisdiction. A soldier may have been in a battalion, regiment, or division, but when in the US, he depended wholly on the actions of the local service command for pay, housing, training, transportation, and equipment. Hope you include this unit in your restoration plan.
