What pants do you use...

Post by tankdriver »

I have always worn Roebuck's Best Khaki Work pants, for doing Vehicle displays. They were the closest pants to the WW2 uniform pants, that I did not mind getting greasy, oily, or dirty. Do not want repo ones, just something a store sells.

As Roebuck's are no long sold, what you most of you guys use now?

Thanks

repop overalls, but our units a tanker outfit. of course trying to mitigate the old fat fart factor, is always a challenge, weve discussed putting together a T-shirt outfit, that ID's us as "tour guides" so we dont look like old fat farts in uniform. but havent gotten that far yet.

My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.

Tan Dickies usually work ok for the dirty pants idea... They are close, but stitch nazis may get ya...

I don't want to do a commercial, but...

I discovered Duluth Trading Companies "Firehose Canvas" work pants. They have a regular jeans version and ones with cargo pockets.

I use the green ones...I think they have khaki...

They are stiff when new, but soften up, but they are tough and heavy.

I get the originals, though they offer a "flex " version, those have spandex and don't feel right.

I like them because they resist tears and are very comfortable...a bit pricey though...good luck

Thanks for the replies.

These are for a display, not are-enactment. Airshows, car shows, museum displays, and such. I have repo uniforms for re-enactment.

I REALLY miss my Roebuck's. They were kinda that golden darker Khaki rather than the newer lighter Khaki.

Oh well.... Time marches on......
