St Louis Carryall WC53

Here's my carryall I recently found it in St Louis MO, about 20 minutes from my home. I was driving by when it flagged me down. The seller recovered it from the woods near Potosi, MO. A gentleman had used it to access his cabin.

Other than the serial #, how can you tell its an early one? Dashboard, gauges? Thanks

dipstick type, oil fill tube filter type and zenith carb. they upgraded pretty early in 3/4 ton production to the other designs.

the real question is do you have an inside arm rest on the middle seat ?

and is the end cap on the floorboards U iron or angle iron ?

G,Day Brian . The real answer is.. 1 .Mine dosen,t have a arm rest on the inside . 2 The cap on the end board,s is a piece of angle Approx 1 1/2 in x 5/8 to 3/4 in . I think it would depend on how thick your floor wood is .It also has a 90 degree bend that marries up to the pieces of floor steel that run,s around the wall of the rear cab . These pieces of floor steel strip hold,s the floor wood in place . Ray

wow thats a lot wider than we figured, the reason we thot it might be a u shaped cap, is because our boards didnt lay down evenly. the end tottered toward the front by about an 1/8 of an inch,

Looking good on your restoration Brian. The middle seat in my newest carryall has both armrests, and like Rays, the front edge of the boards rests underneath an angle.
I was surprised to find two different floors in both my carryalls. The first one I bought had three pieces of wood comprising the floor, each about 18 inches wide. My newer carryall floor is comprised of multiple pieces of wood each about 4 inches wide........John

this is a second hand restoration out of seattle, that were trying to clean up.
it was bought at an auction, so its missing all its trim pieces.

so the internet survey on arms, still hasn't reached a conclusion

guy did a hell of a job making the roof original, but the floor not so much.

and of course we had to re do the BO headlight. and still dont have an answer on the carb fuel line. but its getting there
