Dear friends,
I'm working on the WC-57 Command Car starter plunger.
It is bolted to the firewall, but I would like to know if there is or there is not one plate at the engine area to reinforce the plunger at the firewall from behind.
Pics is very welcome!

- My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.
Re: WC57 STARTER PLUNGER QUESTION
Nope. Just the plate bolted to the firewall- it is more of a mounted bushing: The starter rod passes through it, and connects to the starter lever. As you are not pushing on the mounted bushing at all(beyond return spring pressure) there is no need for any bracing...

Re: WC57 STARTER PLUNGER QUESTION
As most Dodge owners know, once the plunger hole gets worn the rod can jam and this does put pressure on the light metal firewall (I had one crack.) Either keep the hole lubricated or pull it out and rebuild the cast fitting.
PS I agree with your saying on socialism but it was Margaret Thatcher who said it, not Churchill.
