Re: WWII Dodge Links and Database ( Sticky )
Thank you both for the serial numbers. I've entered both and they slot in well with known numbers. If you find further info, I'll update...

Re: WWII Dodge Links and Database ( Sticky )
What's the engine number in that WC 1 Ernie?
Obviously it would have been a T207 originally, but I have seen paperwork that the last few hundred ( 200 or 300 ) VC trucks came fitted with T207 engines, which would mean that the first T207 trucks would have engine numbers a few hundred higher than the chassis number would suggest
Basically the first T207 WC half ton would have had engine T207-00200 or T207-00300

Re: WWII Dodge Links and Database ( Sticky )
Sorry Gordon
It has a car motor in it
But,I have a friend who is getting a WC1 and is looking for a dod and USA number
His truck is
8646107; Engine # is T207-2715
I told him my guess on dod is Nov, 1940
If the WC started at 8644701 and the engines were in any type of an order. that means this was the 1406th truck made, but it has the 2715th motor. That leaves 1309 motors???

Re: WWII Dodge Links and Database ( Sticky )
That's about right. I looked it up one the ATV list from Fred Coldwell;
http://www.gwim2.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/odatv.pdf
.. if you look down the left it says 1182 vehicles which would be about right, but we thrashed out last time that the 8083 contract wasn't for VC's, so still work to do.
We don't have any late VC trucks on the survivors list with T207 engines, never mind T207 code with low serials, so still needs figured.

Re: WWII Dodge Links and Database ( Sticky )
Thanks jsmits. I updated the info.
It's interesting that my (serial # 81610334) body number is twice yours. Yours is 26000 and mine is 52000. My engine is approx 40,000 units more than yours and my DOD is just 4 months and 2 week after yours!
Sylvia may like a copy of your Build Card for her project.

- My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.
