WC-26 Carryall Restoration
I will be posting pictures of the restoration of my WC-26 carryall. Hope to have it done in two years or less. This is day one, removed most of the sheet metal from body, and also front and rear bumpers. Phil H

- My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.
Re: WC-26 Restoration
Say- What do you call that OPEN AREA around your vehicles? I'd like to get some for my shop- I HAVEN'T ANY!
OTHER than that... Nice looking find! I've read through your initial post, and am having some envy issues... But soon MY WC-51 will be done, and they will dissipate

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Man yours look so good. Just placed the body back on the the frame on mine. It's also a WC-26 1941 Dodge Carryall. The firewall looked like some one took a shotgun to it. I so far have welded closed 120 holes in the Carryall. The front seat on mine was missing but i have some school bus seats for the back two seats. The front I am placing a front seat from a 2 1/2 ton. It folds down. Good luck on your restoration.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Paid a visit on my friend/farmer today, he had an old powerwagon cab section that he gave me. I was able to cut out the header section that I will need to repair my carryall body.

Hola Phill,
It's great your collection and your knowledge of Dodge.
A long time I'm walking around in my head for sightseeing to your Country.
I'd like the Jeep factory and many other things concerning Dodge.
Would you mind if we did you visit?.
Salutations, Juan.

Hi Phil, I've done that job on my one ton pickup:
http://www.gwim2.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/td20u.htm
I found it easier to separate the inner and outer windscreen header panels when doing the grafting as that let me get that joint with the loose cross seal much more accurate, in fact I drilled out the rather poor spot welds holding those two panels and seal together, and bolted it all up with plenty of sealer in place after I had welded everything else. I also drilled through all the spot welds on the door drip rails and removed them till I had the roof back together, then just MIG'd them back on.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Gordon, I'm not looking forward to welding all this back together, I may need your advice. I will cut out all the rusted metal and have it sandblasted before I replace any sheet metal. Phil

Re: WC-26 Restoration
Yours looks in very good condition. My WC-26 carryall was tortured. I have welded closed over 120 holes and a big chuck of the firewall. The rear axle spring mounts were relocated 4 inches to the rear so they could put 20 inch rims on it. It must have been used as a mudder. The roof was sealed with styrofoam and it is toast. But not to fret. The new front axle is under the newly sand blasted from with new transmission and NOS transfer case the rear axle has been relocated and restored. The engine is new pistons, rings, mains, cam bearings gaskets etc. And two weeks ago the engine was fired up and purring now. Sorry but I can't wait two years, five months now into the project. I have been looking for over 10 years for a WC-26 ever since I saw the stamp comemmerating the 40th anniverasy completion of the ALCAN highway. Look for the stamp it's exciting. I have modified a M35 front seat since those go first and then some 1941 school bus seat for the rear. The roof is going to be my major task since the foam has destroyed it. In a week or two it will visit my local Advance Auto store to show the gang what they helped restore. Good luck with yours, I will try to post pics later. War Eagle 7 and 1

Re: WC-26 Restoration
John W. and I took a road trip this weekend and recovered a WC10 for parts. The owner was of the mind to restore the truck but decided to let it go. He had collected many parts that made it a good deal for us. In the deal we got a complete T207 engine, transmission, NOS transferr case, and one of MWM's new lower tailgates!! Some good sheet metal was also in the deal. John needed the axles, radiator, engine, wheels, and transmission so we spent yesterday pulling everything apart. I also got some good doors and lots of ods and ends. The body is very rough, someone has sectioned in a T211 or T215 firewall and rear of the body was cut up.

Re: WC-26 Restoration
well impressed how much you have done in a pretty short span of time. My WC26 has taken years but has speeded up recently. The chassis, diffs, gearbox, engine and transfer case are all fully rebuilt now. Got a new gas tank made and have run all the brake and fuel lines. Been mostly working on the body with both panels behind the doors rusted out, so cut those bits out and welded panels in. The rear guards also needed pieces put into them and this is also been done. Removed the floor this week and laid it all out, so the next job is to repair the rust spots around the rear wheel wells, weld back in the floor cross members as every one of them had broken free, then start paint stripping the body. So progress is being made
