well in that case , how about some math?
48"+ 48" + 48" = 144" now subtract a 2" hem on each side of your cargo cover, and what have you got 140"
which is what I measured from fender top to fender top.
around a 4' tall bow.
so far so good?
does anyone have a shorter origial bow out there in dodge land?
or are thay all 4'?

The "White leather" used on the tops is due to its mineral tan. It is known as Chrome leather. If you look at cross section you will see thre distinct lines of colour. the reason for using this leather is that it the hardest wearing and most waterproof leather that requires little or no care. Using a plant tan leather would be a bad idea.

Tony:

All the stuff I have made of chromed leather is either a nice rich tan to dark brown, but I guess that's from all the doggie spit on em.

You don't want to know mate! there used to be agood living to be earned following the local pooch and taking any donations to the tanners :D Mind you a wine drinking bishop was also valued as the best producer of urine for gun powder so if you know of one let the local muzzles loaders know.

Heh, heh, heh. Actually, I was referring to the puppy's chewing on it. We'd wear chrome leather under our clothes when training the little lobsters where and how to hit someone. One of my all time fav movies is K9 with James Belushi, especially the bar scene. It reminds me of my 1st white Shepherd, Cocaine the Wonder Dog.

Yeah I spend a lot of time with Fox and stag hounds and gun dogs. The Dodge is great for touring them about. My favourites have to be Greyhounds, thick as they come, but the second fastest land animal and you don't want to anger one they were bred to bring down deer. The best stuff I have found for all the leather work is Nikwax, water based easy to apply and it doesent soften the leather like a lot of liquid treatments do.
