Hi Juan

Something is wrong, probably with my WC57/56.

I never checked the spec number for my car until now , the bc says 42616 which you state is for a WC56.
The bc says frame no. 81667522 and it is correct with my frame.
And now the strange things. The frame part number is 922825 which is for a WC57 according to the Emil Becker book. and the registration paper for this car with the swedish army is the correct chassienumber and the paper state it has a winch and the weight of the car is for a WC57.

Can anyone tell me what type of car I have? I guess it was a WC 57, but the front frame has been cut of, later replaced with some U-beam parts , but there are no holes in the original frame where the front bumper brackets should have been if it had been a WC 56.

Hola Erik,

Your case is an exception in my studio.

Or my study is not correct.

This is the question.

Erick, you leave me a couple of weeks off and try to study together your case or mine.

I have to pass, that I have the answer for Chrysler and need some time to study.

Thank you and within a couple of weeks

Folks:

Does anybody know if someone is corelating body numbers with engine and frame numbers. If so where are they archived? Earlier in this topic there is an extensive list of serial numbers along with the reg numbers and dates of delivery, but no body or engine numbers are listed.

Many thanks.

I have a couple of srial numbers for the list as follows :

81534192 WC55 rebuilt as a WC52

81771593 WC51
I would like to know the dod for the WC51 would it be around April 45 and how far off it would be till the end of production for WC51. Would i be right in thinking only 57 WC51 were made after this one ?

Hi in the forum!

When I bought my WC52 with chass.No.81643936 (which is in your data base already) I found also the following data plate in it's glove compartment:

Chass.No. 816 855 40, USA-No. 260552, Type WC 52.
Date (should be date of overhoul) March 49, DB 7469 (may be the Daimler Benz repair number).

I will try to upload a picture of that plate.

I do not know, if the above vehicle has been canibaliced and the body maybe used on my WC52.

Greetings, Heinz.

Looks like they omitted or dropped the first digit of the USA number...should probably be 2260552

Hola Tony,

I think it's: Motor Nº 163734
Body Nº 24496

And why?, I am accustomed to read the numbers of the other BC, just for that.

The rest are:

Sales O.Nº 98928
Spec.O.Nº 42744, and in my study is a wc-54 ambulance.
Body Model 39 = wc-54
Sched.Nº 81537

So, the body plate is: 4239 24496.

There are two orders in 1944 of WC-54 ambulance.
W-374-ORD-2864, 95 units, with registration number 732541 to 732635
W-374-ORD-6322, 2.852 units, with reg. number 722636 to 735487.

Part of my study is based on the Sched.Nº, but I have not enough B.C., to draw correct conclusions, therefore what I say below is a supposition.

Suppose that:
The Sched.Nº., starts at 80,001 in 1944. Therefore your vehicule was the (81.537 - 80.001)
1.537 th made that year.

Suppose the first order made was that of 95 units. (1.537 - 95 = 1.443), If so, your vehicle was the No 1.443, made from the second order.

722636 + 1.443 = 724080

So the registration number of the car is USA - 724080 .

I do not know the opinion of Divin.

Divin what do you think?. You what number you give the car?.

Salutaions, Juan15

I would suggest 733679 +/- 100 as a registration number if the original is lost...let me know what you decide on.

since we have the body number and can correlate the registration number for that by taking it and subracting 2159 (number of 4239 bodys produced prior to registration 710000) from 24496 resulting in 732337 or just adding the body number to 710000 results in 734496...also unless I am mistaken 732635 THRU 739726 are the proper registration range for a '44 ambulance

So take your pick of
732337 (under range)
734496 (within range)
or the first number I SWAGGED based on imperical data...(within range too)
