Robbo:
What did you use for search directions? I'll be damned. Those pictures were taken just down the street from Uggville. I actually did some time at Ft Sheridan. A little sidenote, Ft Sheridan was sold off a few years ago, and being that it was on the shore of Lake Michigan, they turned it into a high end community. They kept the 2 gold courses that were there, but I'm wondering what they did with the missle silos?

Hi Ugg,
None of these photo collections are ever captioned or indexed properly - I guess librarians aren't into old trucks that much. Another unfortunate trend is to slap intrusive water-marks over these photographs to stop people reselling the photographs on ebay or similar.
Try searching using army truck, army transportation, motor pool, GMC, jeep etc. Some of the pictures go up to the 1970's or later so maybe you're in one.
Good Luck.

This picture, http://cdm.digitalpast.org/u?/lakecoun004,6000, looks to be one of a 1942 (or so) Federal model 606 truck with trailer.

Probably not a Federal truck
I sent the photo to Kevin Kronlund (Army Cars USA) to ID. He thinks it is a REO 29XF with a 40 foot C2 trailer, normally used by the AAF.
