Hey mate, have a word with Gordon. He should be able to arrange things in an easier manner to consult.

Hi divingrocks.
Could it be that '42 style bodies survived because they had more steel in them and so 'easier' to repair than the later ones with more wood in them. Also wood on steel is more corrosive than steel on steel because it soaks up water. Even when painted the wood chafes on the steel rubbing the paint away and so absorbing water. Modern wood treatments are far superior than 40's stuff. I know of two late model WC52's with '42 rear bodies.
Saying that I wonder why the rear bodies survived and not the rest of it? Hmmm...I think I've just Knee'd my theory in the groin!!

Re: 3/4 Ton Database and Helpful Links
Finally got around.
WC52, at least now it is!
Frame nr is 81730569
Engine is not original, will check that number, suspect a command car donated. But I'll check the old one too.
Gonna order a build card.

One WC52, 1944 chassis, 1943 cargo bed, 1943 engine, plenty of repro parts, all restored by an amateur.

Hej Johan,
I guess that your frame number is from late 1944. My WC51 #81741448 frame was made in February 6 1945.
Hope the engine is ok.

Re: 3/4 Ton Database and Helpful Links
Hola,
Results of a quick study that I just did ...
If the conclusions are correct, then the BC we can distinguish between winch or not.
I need your help, if you agree ...

Hello Juan.
I think something is wrong here.
I own the CC with chassi no 81667522 and you have the buildcard among your samples.
The buildcard states chassi model 214 and spec no 42616 and you state that this is a WC56.
I say it cant be as the frame parts no is 922825 wich is the frame for WC57 and 58 and WC 52 with winch.
Sorry can´t post any pic, got this message !!! "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached".
Oops Goran explained the problem, I get it. space and terrabits costs.
I have a copy of the registration papers from the swedish army and they state that this car with frame no 81667522 is equiped with a winch ?
Strange I say.
Sorry I dont get that with the BC ? You just mean sorting out Build Cards ?

Re: 3/4 Ton Database and Helpful Links
Hola Erik,
First, I apologize if I disturbed you.
The second is that I do not know English, just a little.
The third thing is that I want, only, to study the BC, that is why I asked for help from you. What I want to know if what is on that list is correct or not.
I know how to differentiate with or without winch...
EriK, I ask you, please, you to check what number is stamped on the chassis of your dodge.
I wish I did not upset you, anyway, I'm sorry.

Hi Heinz!
Welcome to the forum! Very nice truck! Looks like a very easy restoration.
You have come to the right place for answers to any questions you may have regarding WW2 Dodges.

Re: 3/4 Ton Database and Helpful Links
Welcome to the forum...your frame serial number is a Mid May 43 production, the body is Mid November 44 production, and the engine is Mid-July 42 production...so she's been through at least one cannibalization rebuild...I suggest 2172363 as a registration number.Heinz wrote:Hi in the forum!

Nice looking Dodge. The body must have had a piece added to it in the front (marked in red) if the body is a late 1944 one ?:
