1934 Dodge KH-31 Military 1.5 ton truck

Post by David DeWeese »

Hi,
Picked this truck up here in Texas a couple of weeks ago. Just goes to show this pre-war stuff is still out there....
Thanks, David

Hi Dave
That is great.
At least out by you, the climate allows them to survive a little better.
Have you ever found any of the 1936 4 Wheel Drive Dodges?

Hi Ernie,
Haven't found any early 4x4's yet, but lately a friend in Wichita Falls missed a 1934 Chevrolet halftrack in a local scrap yard by just a couple of days. I've only seen photos of these in a book.
Anyway, he went back to inquire about it a few days later and it was already cut up and gone, but he did stop them from cutting up a Bofors AA gun that day. He has it at his place now.
Stuff is going away fast due to the scrappers. These folks have no concept of history. They look at everything as weight and money.
Thanks, David

Hi DAve
I will now cry myself to sleep over that halftrack
I do not understand the mentality of some scrappers. Out by me there
are a couple that will not sell anything, once it is in thier yard...
Oh well, that least he saved the gun

My garage: Restored Old Henry, and have had this WC51 on the road around 3 years now... Currently finishing a brace of Ben Hur trailers, and starting a 67 Galaxie fastback. Concurrent with the WC I restored a 74 TR6... Oh the joys.

WORST PART IS- all this iron which won the war is going to CHINA to be turned into stuff there- NO LONGER can WE process it! Because big business and the EPA have destroyed the capability of THIS country to be self sufficient! The arsenal of Democracy is now dead. Because of selfish interests of profiteers.

Random fact here;

At the end of WW2, 40% of the world's manufacturing capacity was in the USA .....

( That included a lot of Dodges )

I emailed the guy and told him he might have better luck selling the whole truck becasue of the rarity.

I can only think he has a much better cab that he can get for a few dollars, and want to sell the one that's on this to finance it.

I don't think I'd give $4500 for that whole truck, as it sits? Am I just too mean? David's '34 dump is much nicer, now that he's cleaned it and added some replacement doors and fenders.

How about an updated pic, David?
