Chevy oil pan
While I was giving my engine a bath today and cleaning the oil pan off. I found on the right side of the pan that it had stamped 235 on it. Have any one else ran across that also? I did take pictures, but still can't get the hang of posting them. Thanks Andy

Re: Chevy oil pan
Yes Andy, I was surprised when I found the numbers 235 stamped into a Chev oil pan. This is of course the engine displacement in cubic inches and is to differentiate this oil pan from the one used on the 216. As the stroke on the two engines is different the oil ditribution nozzles and troughs are in a slightly different position so the pans do not interchange.
