1950 dodge 1/2
I own a 1950 dodge 1/2 ton pickup truck. As far as I know its just a cavilian truck, but a friend of mine said that since it lacks the corner windows on the doors (the ones that tilt out to let air in) its of a military contract. Is that true? What branch used them? How many did they make? Does anyone have any info on this? Thanks Jared

Wish I could help ya. I just thought I'd say that those windows are usually called "wind wings".

In UK and probably AU/NZ also called "Quarter Lights" or were 40 years ago if I remember correctly.

You know, it was U.S. military procedure to apply additional data and instruction plates inside vehicle cabs. These plates would provide speed per gear, cold weather preparation, load capacity, Quartermaster Corps identification, and other information.
If there are unexplained patterns of holes (or even some original plates) on the dash or glove box door, this would firm up the status of your truck as being military.
