Post by brian »

that supplies power from the batteries, to the radio.
is it the same box for all vehicles?
does it have noise suppression parts?

They are relatively common on eBay and can be found at most of the larger shows.

Brian:

Noise suppression was built in by Dodge on some vehicles, and according to AR 850-5 the hood # would have a -S after it on those vehicles.

this shows just a buss bar, but there is a different size for the dodge,
as well as some capped plugs.

I think I know what you mean!!!

Brian,
I think you mean a much larger steel box which connects your battery via an armoured cable to your radio.
I have a WC53 which is now finished and am now starting on a very rough WC56 and they both have the same box but fitted in different ways. The box is made in two parts (base and lid) and is about 9 - 10" square and 3 " deep. I dont know how to post pictures on this forum but if you send me your email I will send you pics.
The box must be fitted by Dodge at the factory as it is welded to the stiffener on the side of my WC56 and the rear of the front seat fitts hard up against it. On the WC53 it is screwed to the side of the truck behind the drivers seat.
If you want to make one it would be easy and I can measure mine. (Interestingly the cable between the box and the battery are of a totally different design on the two trucks)
Cheers
Dave
