Forest service and fire department CCKWS

Post by RANGER »

They are getting harder to find, especially that creampuff that has sat in a heated Fire Station for 50 years.
My experience with these trucks has been thre fire departments that have bought parts to keep them running. These trucks were in their prime in the 40s-early 60s. They got their best care when there were still young WWII veterans serving with the fire departments to service them. On the whole most slipped into disrepair after that time period as they did nt get repaired as they were intended to be. Most who buy excess fire department 6X6 trucks will discover that care was "mickey mouse" at best, as they do not value them enough to invest money in them.

Our VFD still has a WC-52 that is used by them but the local FD have switched to the newer 6x6.
