Re: VF and VC Question
Easy enough
VC is same as early 1/2 ton WC, 4.89 to 1. Diffs will interchange, front axle housings will interchange, front axle drive ends will interchange - you often find VC trucks with WC main front axle centres with VC ends on. In fact the inner front axle drive shafts on the VC and WC are the same. Outer shafts are longer on the WC but can be cut back.
The real info isn't in the VC or VF manuals, though I do have those, it is in section 3 of the VC and VF Parts Lists, and the VC Parts Lists are extremely rare ....
VC is 4.89 to 1, 44 teeth on gear, 9 teeth on pinion.
VF is 6.6 to 1, 33 teeth on gear, 5 teeth on pinion

Re: VF and VC Question
6.6/1- well that explains the top speed of 45 m.p.h.

Re: VF and VC Question
Well it might top out at 45 Ken, but it'll drive across a ploughed field, through a swamp, and up the side of a cliff at the same speed.
There may be a diff swap to speed it up, but would you really want the hassle?
