Marmon Herrington Driveline Question

Post by Robbo »

Anyone familiar with the very rare Ford MH 4x4 car/light truck driveline arrangement - in particular on the type of Ford with enclosed torque tube drive - were the transfer cases attached directly to the rear of the transmission as in a jeep or separate as in the open driveshaft MH trucks?

Pretty esoteric question but some one may know.

You might check with this guy. He's restoring a Marmon Herrington Woody. I'm not sure the particulars of the driveline arrangement.

hi there

new to the forum, i have a number of these ford marmon herrington trucks in australia. all of them are 41 model australian pattern artillery tractors for the 25 pounder gun. the transfer cases on ours are all sepparate to the gear box, there is a small jack shaft with 2 universal joints in it about 10 inches long that join the two together. we have one complete restored vehicle. can send pics if needed

Just checking in after a long time away - (not in the big house or the nut house either :D ) - Thanks for your reply Jake but I was wondering about the smaller utility and car type conversions.
