CCKW, A PROUD HERITAGE
The CCKW was built bt General Motors Corporation, it has many innovations, including its' DELCO electrical system. The components are a perfection of automotive electrical components invented by Charles Kettering. Kettering is famous for inventing the electric starter in 1912. He founded Dayton Engineering Laboratories Company, DELCO, which was bought out by General Motors. Mr Kettering was involved in Engineering Research at General Motors until his pasing in 1958 at age 83.

One of my civilian instructors, Mr Rogers, at US Army Ordnance School, Aberdeen Proving Ground back in 62 worked with Mr Kettering in the early days of GM.
