Many of the steering wheels being offered for CCKW have notches cut into the rim, and are being described as "drive in the dark aids" when in all reality they may have come from previous installation of a "suicide knob".
Some owners have vivid imaginations and like to fantasize believing that sand found trapped in the rear spring seats just has to be from a D-Day June 6 1944.
