Bow catches...
Hi all-
I'm looking for two of the catches for the top bow uprights, which lock them into the brackets. I have four now, so I can get the corners locked in, but need a pair more for the center uprights...
Thanks!
Scott

Scott, can you post a photo of the catch. I need them also, and could keep an eye open for them.
Thx

These are the bow retainer catches: I need two more: I have four now, so the corners are taken care of, but I need two more for the middle bow uprights

Very cool. I have never before seen a photo of one of these catches on a WC.

I've seen them in a few pics: additionally, I've seen them on(and harvested one of my pairs from) the winter enclosure bow uprights!zepher11 wrote:Very cool. I have never before seen a photo of one of these catches on a WC.

Re: Bow catches...
Geeesh...the small pieces for the bed of this truck is never ending! Lol. I've been working on all of the chains lately. For Christmas, I received the 6 curved brackets for the top bows....I thought I was in business. Now I learn of this cool, but I'm thinking very elusive part.
It sounds like you have been searching hard to get your 4. Will the system work without them? Or are repro's available?

I know what you mean. I never knew these existed until yesterday. I have been dragging my feet in completing my bows for the bed... I figured the bows were just bolted in place. Re: Bow catches...
Hmmm,
Does anyone know what year these catches were introduced??
I have 6 original wood bow uprights. These uprights, if you have ever seen them, have all the holes for the corner brackets; drilled in the right offset, but have no hole at the base to bolt the catch on. It appears that these catches may have been introduced later, and that some (?) uprights may not have used them.
I think from some of the reactions folks have here they were not always there
Any ideas ?

Re: Bow catches...
As far as I know they were just used with the composite beds. I bought mine from Jeepest in France, I seem to remember they were pretty expensive.

Re: Bow catches...
Saw this photo on FB today and it had me thinking about the bow catches. First time I have noticed them in a photo. I'm sure they are in many photos, but just haven't noticed them before. The photo caption indicates that this is from the 1950's:

Middle driver's side bow. Maybe looks to be bent up a bit:
