There appears to be increasing interest in towing WWII Trailers equipped with electric brakes by owners of CCKWs without provision for electric brakes. I am curious as to how many of those WWII Trailers so equipped, are still functional after years of neglect and corrosion?
I am more curious as top how many who attempt to install the controllers on their CCKW are successful?
The reason for the comment is that there are no maintenance questions about brakes on trailers. The electric brake components are subject to rust and corriosion, the shoes require lubrication at the anchors to function freely, the parking mechanism on the backing plates get stuck with age and wires need replacing.
Any luck out there with WWII Electric Brakes?
