CCKW Windshield defroster

Post by RANGER »

The Wartime Electric Defrosters were issued as kits in metal Boxes. The CCKW open and Closed Cabs used the same Kit. They were attached to the windshield by 4 suction cups.
There were several manufacturers, and due to 50 years of time, they should be purchased as curios only, as the rubber seals harden up which will make them impossible to install. Also, the metal filliments break off from the defroster frames making them useless.
I sold hundreds of these back in the 50s to CJ-2A and CJ-3A Jeep owners, and have kept a few to display with my CCKW.

Yes, they did come in 12 Volt.
