Value of aCCKW

Post by RANGER »

The value of a CCKW is quite subjective. It all depends of the condition, and degree of restoration. Restorations vary from the worn out gravel pit CCKW with OD paint slapped on, CCKWs restored with alternative components, using non original engines, and sufficient improvisions that create the "vision" of a CCKW, recent CCKWS released from gov't service that have only a fresh paint job and basically unrestored, to those meticulously restored trucks by professional shops that return the CCKWs to near new condition with NOS components. The range in value will vary from $500.00 thru $40,000, depending on the pocket book of the owner.

Valuable CCKWs are not created out of a NAPA store, it sometimes takes years to chase down enough original CCKW components that will result in the best CCKW possible. It is getting increasingly more difficult and expensive to find NOS cosmetic CCKW parts. An example of this is the Wood Steering Wleel, nice ones sell in excess of $400.00.

My present CCKW project would not be as successful had I not started saving NOS parts back in the early 60s.
